Horn and main beam flash

dont work.

The main beam works when you push the arm away, but not when you pull towards. All the fuses are OK.

Relays or switch?

check power to the switch, horn and "flash" work form the same power source, they are also on piddly little pin connectors in the switch itself which seem to come loose relatively easily.
whip the steering wheel cowl off and check from there.

I had to change my switch last month, only mine was a problem with the horn. You might be lucky and find its one of the piddly pins come off. It's not a big job if you do have to change the switch, Biggest problem is getting the steering wheel off.

I have just had the same symptoms on my 2001 TD5 90...

First the fuse blew for the horn... finally found it under the drivers seat... swapped it around for the 30A HRW fuse - I don't have a HRW...

Then flasher didn't work... blamed the switch... fitted new stalk... still no dice

Fiddling with fuses... found the HRW fuse had blown - but I dont have HRW replaced with 30A fuse... all fixed:confused2:

Either I have a unique wiring loom or HRW doesn't stand for Heated Rear Window... and has something to do with lights and horn... enlightenment much appreciated... as I suspect I haven't actually fixed the fault, and it will come back... probably just as I take it in for MOT.

Typical... booked in for MOT on Monday... and now the bloody horn and light flasher has stopped working again!

Any further pointers I could try?... Nickliv, did you fix it... if so how?

Does MOT check for flash on headlights...as that might be my problem... might just replace the fuse and hope they don't flash the lights before the check the horn!

Hello Nickliv & the Gribbin,
Hope you guys still frequent the forum.
Just reading your old posts which are invaluable.. but doesn't say how you fixed it in the end. Got my MOT on my defender 110 td5 2001, horn & flasher not working. As you know both on the left indicator stork. Have replaced (for new) the whole stork & the horn, also keep blowing the 20 amp fuse under the drivers seat. Could you tell me please was yours fixed by just replacing a yellow relay???
Any input would be appreciated,
