right guys had a water leak and put it down to the membrane on the tailgate missing

my question is does anyone have pictures and a list of parts they used because there's no way in hell im paying £80 for a new one

I didn't take any pictures but mine has a tough black bin liner fitted. My boot and cubby are bone dry.

Try and get a clinical waste bag if you can as they are thicker, stronger plastic than a bin bag. Or better yet, get a clear body bag- they're real tough like the original!

Meanwhile, in the real world, garden waste and rubble bags will be a lot easier for 97.2% of people to get hold of.

Where does this membrane go exactly?
I thought my wet boot was due to the sealing-tape-stuff on the top edge of the tailgate being tucked down at the end.
I have some body bags I can empty if needed.
Erm I mean rubble bags...

I've used body bags as boot liners (sis worked for nhs ), zips were poor but they were good quality polythene.

Ask a farmer for silage sheet, that's even heavier gauge (and a waste product).

going to speak to a friend who could get me some builders sacks...

will try the duck tape as long as it doesn't leak and cost a fortune its not like you see it

Was at the pet shop this morning because I needed another bag of dog food so bought a 15kg bag and then went to halfords next door and bought some duct tape

Return home and took trim off and cut the new food bag to size and and stuck down

Haven't water tested yet because we're due rain later so ought might as well wait

If it works will take trim off to take some photo for you all to see

Can anyone post a diagram/picture of where the new bag/bin liner/body bag must go?
My cubby hole is soaked in the boot. Jack is getting rusty too!

Damp Proof Membrane which builders use to lay down before pouring concrete floors is good stuff. It's a heavy gauge polythene. Although it's usually available from merchants by the roll, you may be able to get it cut to size or another idea is to see if a local builder has an offcut.
