Hk replacement please!

I have been doing a bit of searching on here and I am new to the sight as I am looking for the solution to replacing the Harmon Kardon nav /radio problem in td4 facelift hse , its just naff!
Until I remove the present system assuming its the head that is the problem and not the amp, I cannot see the plugs , I am assuming once you convert the BMW plugs to iso then any head unit should fit?
If the speaker wires are routed to the amp unit via the conversion loom , then I assume they will work also .
Can anyone help and have they done this themselves please.

I just use mi phone. Why buy something I've already got on my phone, thats assuming you have a good phone to.

I haven't done the HK one but eBay do thousands of ISO converters.
Plug them into the Freelander wiring loom and then into your new head unit & it will work.
If you want to use your steering wheel controls you'll have to buy the compatible remote cable that is designed for your head unit.

So any head unit will fit the space and use the amp?

The Freelander 1 has a single DIN hole so any single DIN head unit will fit.
99% of aftermarket head units have an ISO socket so if you search eBay for the matching ISO lead then it should use the original amp.
