Hippo Roof rack

Been Looking at some roof racks of 3d hippos but to be honest i do not quite like the way they stop in the middle of the roof so i thought i'd do it myself. Is there anyone out there who has a 3d Freebie who can kindly take some dimensions or anyone who has built his own and has a design for it?

In line to where the roof stops for the front windshield (leaving a gap for targa panels to come out)

I'll have a look tomorrow, Not sure if you would be able to leave room to take the panels out though.

That i already thought of, leaving a 'man-hole' like gap in the bottom of the rack so they could open and detach with ease

Do you have roof bars fitted, I can't tell from your pic. Can I take it you want it the same width as mine?

No i don't, it would have made life easier that way. regarding width yes, i'd like it to be like the standard one. even the distance it protrudes out from the back. basically what i want to do is extend the original one

Rangerover Freelander Discovery Landrover ALUMINIUM roof tray rack carry carrier | eBay

I have looked also at the Discovery ones on fleabay and they would possibly be something to work with considering you have no roof bars..??.

I suppose you could always fit the 5 door one and just keep the weight to the rear and not the front??

Is that JC's old rack when he got rid of it? I have something in the works on similar lines, but within the rails and underslung, and tailored into the body lines.

Eventually the end result (in my mind) would be something like that but built into the actual roofbars

Just to clarify, what i need is the dimensions of the roofbars as the way i plan is to combine roofrack to roofbars to one whole structure
