How about a general hints and tips section.Here is one, when working on a complete swivel housing/hub unit put it in an old car wheel to keep it stable.

Was thinking more about those little things that help you get on with a job rather than Busters very good "how to" fix it,however I have at least learned how to get photos into and out of the laptop and on to the forum.cheers.

I prefer the builders bucket tip you gave me for the hub job, easier to lift!
 
On the subject...

A really neat trick I picked up from my neighbour.

I had changed the oil seal in the nose of the diff, but was struggleing to get it tight while lying under the vehicle, he said "why not use the weight of the vehicle?"

Place a jack under the handle of the ratchet and use that to lift the handle, cos of the weight of the vehicle all you do is tighten the nut, really easy solution.
 
Sorry to **** on your chips guys but this thread has the potential to become 000's of pages long and when that happens it will become useless as it will be impossible to search for what you need a tip on ... every thread would need a searchable heading and that aint possible ... or is it? :confused:
