2005 TD4, 132k. All the consumables and typical failures done, but the engine seems good. Keep going turbo!!! eek!

Its interesting to me how different vehicles depriciate over time my first freelander (the one in my pic) had had thousands spent on it 140000 on the clock.I paid £1500 and 3 times that had been spent in the last 3 years alone chasing faults round the engine and maintaining the 4 wheel drive but the back door had rustend right through under the handle it had had fairly regular services but had a noisey turbo and lacked power (at the time i had nothing to compare it too and didnt frequent this forum for advise) it also had a rough as **** recon gearbox and full service history and all the fairing bolts where rusted to the point a mechanic had to drill them out... this 03 tdi i have now has no service history the oil i pulled from the engine was the worst ive ever seen for colour and viscosity (although no visible contaminamts) egr full of crud pvc filter as saturated as i think one can get
The truck made a rumbling sound when i got it thats why the last owner was selling it turned out the 2 back wheels bolts were all loose (that tells me hoe well he maintained it). But it pulls twice as hard as the other all the bolts and bits are ok no rust and the gearbox is lovley smooth but its an older vehicle no service history and the 4wheel drive has not been maintained. Mad int it

2006 TD4 and about 108k from what I can remember. So only just run in by the sounds of it haha.

230k.

Original urbo. Was original injectors until last month. Original clutch also which is gonna be due along with new gearbox this year. Might do whole lot when in there do it right and once, eg all mounts, bearings, seals and so on and hopefully see if she will hit 400k.

Need to weigh up if it's worth keeping or cheaper to strip, scrap and replace with another.

I can see her staying to be honest. Unless something mad goes with it.

My 2006 F1 just clicked over to 158k, only had it since December last year, have put new boots all round and am planning to replace too many things to list here but she runs really well although the gearbox is a bit notchy.
