High mileage L405 advice

I'd ask where they got it from. I bet it was the auctions. Ask what inspection they did or who looked over it. These cars are not understood by a lot of garages unless they're specialized or dealers. Get an extended warranty and if they won't offer one look elsewhere.
As beautiful as it is I wouldn't own one and I fix cars all day long. As said you don't sell a good car.

Water pump had sheared its bolts and we had to strip the cars front off to get the bolts drilled and tapped... That put me right off... The three tiny bolts that hold that big pump and pulley along with a two meter plus belt and under all that strain had been over tightened at some point... It took out the fan, the crank pulley and its own pulley... The price was enormous..... Over 2000€ parts and labour... Ef to that!!
