i havea disco 300 tdi with a auto box:mad:
its doing strange things
wont set off in drive but will go in 1st then put into drive goes up and down gears revves in 3rd a bit when i stop i have to go bk into 1st to set off again any advice plz
 
has the gearbox got a USB port on it ? - i'm quite happy to telnet into it and have a look round

Hi Jeff,I'd start with the basics. Flush and change gear oil. Probably do tranny and diff oils too. Check any sensors such as crank speed sensor, throttle sensors, and whatever else there may be (mine's a P38 so don't know where the sensors are in yours). If its still giving you trouble its a likely a mechanical fault in the gearbox. Might be talking a rebuild or simply getting a new one. Talk to an expert at that stage.
