just bought a freelander 1998 it gets a vibration from about 50-55 but is worse when decelerating feels like the car is shuddering once below 50 or above 55 its perfect all gears are smooth when changing up or down the wheels are balanced ok seems no play in prop brgs no apparent noises on transmission any ideas

Hi Beretta682. :welcome2:

What wheels does it have on??? Are they standard Landrover ones????
Vibration at that speed is nearly always due to wheels not being balanced, fitted correctly.
Maybe a flat spot on one? Damage of some sort. Or if they are after market wheels, then not correct size and therfore not centred correctly on the hub.

Hope this helps.

Thanx for reply its got alloy landy wheels on 16 inch with 215/65-16 goodrich m+s tyres no vibration with or on strg wheel i have thought about trying to get some steel whls and fit them i used to hate landys but bloody love this freeloader

Update removed props and VCU no vibration at all now so seems somewhere between g/box to rear diff bit of play in diff so think that fave to be the problem
