Hi, I live in Normandy and have recently bought a '98 French registered (LHD) diesel RR which has led a fairly sheltered life.
After a trip to my local Citroen garage (well, he does kind of know about air suspensions I suppose and there's isn't a LR garage anywhere near) - , to replace a defective drivers door handle, when I picked it up today the car no longer rises at the front. There's no dash warning message but the ride level keeps flashing. Does this sound like new front airsprings are required or could it be somehting else? And since the problem occured in a garage could it have anything to do with having been up on a hoist? Thank you for any help.

Welcome.

I don't see why they should have put the Rangie up on a hoist to replace the door handle - but you never know.

Has the hoist done anything? That would depend on the type of hoist, if it was a full ramp which lifts the vehicle on its wheels then it's unlikely, but if it was one of the types that lifts the body/chassis and lets the wheels and suspension hang loose, well who's to know? Something might have been displaced.

Your best bet would be to ask in the Range Rover section of the site, I'm sure somebody (or their butler) will be able to throw some light on the subject.

Get yourself to the Range Rover section. At the top of the page in the 'how to' bits you'll find a good write up on your suspension.
I doubt that it's your air bags but it could be many other things so you (or the garage) are going to have to do a bit of detective work.
