Where to start?
Well, the other day on motorway temp shot up, but then settled when back on the roads.
Today i noticed a bit of water loss, drove it 1 mile and it was hissing from thermostat ( weak spot?) Coming back was producing blue smoke, never does that.
So, thermostat, water pump or head gasket.
300tdi 92k miles

head gasket but you will want to fit new thermostat ,pump and check rad gets hot all over if not replace it too
