Hi people, starting on a journey to buy my daughter a defender.
I’m a long time Range Rover owner and buy from main dealer for peace of mind, she however has a 20k budget and I have been tasked with finding the best one out there. So in my quest I thought it would probably be best to get some help from knowledgeable people so here I am.

Hi welcome, should be able to get a very good one for that budget. What year/model/engine is she after?
She’s not too fussed as will be used to go to local Mole Valley Farmers to pick up stuff for her bloody horses etc. She will use my FFRR if going out or on long journeys. I would have thought a TD5 90 county with the best history and u good underside. She can have it painted and re trimmed etc if needed as long as it’s cheap enough. Thank you for your interest.

Main bits to look at (incase you don't know) is the chassis and bulkhead for rust. Rear xmember on them is normally the first to go. You might get lucky and find one with a galv chassis.
Good luck in your search

Hi and welcome!

For that budget, you should get a nice one. Check the two areas prone to rust, the chassis and bulkhead. And make sure the identification numbers tie up, there are lots stolen for parts or resold with another ID.
Once you get one, invest in lots of decent security measures too.

Will do, we get enough trouble with theft on the farm as it is. Looked at one today which I’m keen on but it’s the first I’ve looked at and have little to compare it with.

Welcome.
Don’t buy posh if horses are involved….
Mud on the carpets & hay in the seats.

Hope the search goes well & get good security sorted
Can agree to this 100% posh and horses/livestock doesnt go well, our Disco 2 is a workhorse (literally) wipe your wellies on the way out! Welcome to the forum
