Re: the Series 3. Loved mine....Could take the wife or Mother-in-law anywhere and not hear a word they said for the whole trip
Drove her every day to work and on delivery runs; and the only problems it ever gave were due to the Australian Holden 6 motor in her. Wish I still had her or one like her for nostalgia's sake.

With a bit of tlc and some soundproofing, I've got mine down to tolerable levels of noise but the problem now is that I can hear other audible sounds of decay and mechanical woes that I couldn't hear before. It's still not quiet enough to make fitting a radio practical. There are two new different noises that make passengers look at me in alarm. I am waiting patiently for something to fall off or come flying up through the floor.

Nooooo...bullet proof the old Series 3; conquered nations hahahaha. Well mine was compared to the TD5 I just bought. Its like driving around on a block of semtec with a dodgy det. Just waiting for something else to blow up. I remember when I first picked up the second hand Series 3 back in the day. Had never had a Landy before. First thing I noticed was the stereo with a bloody great amplifier mounted underneath and the speaker mounted above the doors in line with your ears. Thought it was great; what a score. It wasn't until I got moving and still couldn't hear anything on it that I realised why it was there. Recon thats why I'm half deaf now.

Oncoming drivers used to swerve out of my way. You're right, they are bullet proof but they don't like going fast. I use the word fast in its loosest sense.

Yes, certainly have a mind of their own. Cyclist seem to love them though, could always see them waving happily at me in the rear view mirror after Id driven past

While here in Up Over Manchester England outside London we pride ourselves with having the Rain Gods impose their delights.Yes...and it is the dampest State in Australia.
