Thanks for the warm welcome everyone (ive got a lot to learn, starting with how old is my truck!).

Ive got to go to merzouga (erg chebbi) Griffdowg as thats near to where the trucks going, but ive now had a look at erg chegaga and will make sure i visit there first, youre right a whole lot less touristy than erg chebbi.
i'm leaving it there because theres some people there that really need it (spreading the landy love).

And raskazon, thanks for the photo compliment ...... surely there's someone out there who's really really brave?

hi folks, i've been reading the forum for the past month or so and have really enjoyed the threads, ranging from highly informative to v funny.

i've had the 110 (1985) for about 14 years and have loved it. so far driven in uk only (cornwall and back a million times), this is about to change as i'm taking it to morocco (merzouga, sahara) in september and leaving it there (ive had a look at what's required for this to happen).

i've been to morocco a few times so sort of understand the place but ive never undertaken a long overland trip or driven on foreign soil (except morocco) or taken a trip like this, soooooo, anybody else heading out there at this time or alternatively does anybody want a free lift to morocco?

thanks, sara

Hi essex girl,
I'm a 110 HT owner, i travel a lot in morocco, most of the time offroading to get to my destinations as i organise 4x4 trips all over morocco. i read that you've been recommended chegaga and m'hamid in stead of merzouga, it is true that it is a lot quiter, and a lot less tourists, but as you're going yourself as i understood, it is better to be in merzouga if you want to enjoy sand driving as you'll always find someone to take you out if you get stuck. i called a friend in merzouga today and they have like 54°C today over there. it is better to wait for october to go to these destinations. i can help you organise your trip here, or help you find a solution if you landy gets sick ...
enjoy your trip,
kamal
