It's only a problem if they're run on cold 100% vegoil. Veg oil is too thick for the injector pump but if you use an heater to warm the oil or mix it with diesel It thins it out and you don't get this problem. I'll be surprised if Boomer's mate gets loads of em in with blown fuel pumps, he may have had 1 or 2, but that hardly counts as loads.

I dont know of any additives except perhaps methanol and caustic which are used in the process to make fuel from used cooking oil.
Maybe someone else knows of a sulphur additive??

This landy has a proper vegoil system on it so i suspect that it has a heater and everything is in order.

Can i just say what i great and helpful forum this is.

Has anyone got an anwser to my other question about where to buy em.

You're right Redhand, not loads of LRs with the siezed pump problem, I think he's had about 4 or 5 all told, but they all had the Lucas pump.

Hi guys

I have now found a Series 3 1974 Petrol that i may be going to look at tomorrow and i was wondering what happens about the unleaded/leaded fuel.

Can you just use normal unleaded or.....

Unleaded Petrol heads have had the valve seats replaced with hardened inserts (valves as well). Yu must ensure that you have a head suitable for unleaded petrol. loads of peeps can supply them - or get yours modified.
