Hi all - New to this forum, just to say I just bought my sen a 90 Defender 200Tdi. As a project, and I am glad I did as the clutch in my Freelander exploded the other night on the way home from work.
The Defender though has had to come out to play earlyer than was planned on... so I havent finnished getting it livable yet.
I am having a 2 small problems
1. SMOKING!... Duff injectors. causing lots of smoke untill warm.
2. Difficulty in changing into 3rd but going up the box. feels like some one has blocked it off, or sometimes grates like our lass. It is usualy ok coming down the box.
Any Ideas on where to get some cheap reliable injectors?
or any Ideas on the other ...

Hi :welcome2: to the asylum :D re your gear selection prob; the fact that it's OK coming down, but not up, suggests maybe the selector mechanism (I had a serious prob with my tranny going into and staying in low - jumping out as you set out down a VERY steep hill off road is NOT the best fun ever!!! - and it was just a grub screw come loose!!!) I must admit I'm not au fait with the gear selection mechanism, but it's got to be worth having a look :)

Do a search and if you don't find any answers, post your question on the Defender board, and someone'll be able to help you :D
