Hey there

Just to introduce myself, My names steve, im from Palmerston North in New Zealand. Ive just brought my first land rover, a 1960 series 2 repowered with a holden 186, inline 6 engine. I brought it for NZD $500 (I think around 170 pounds) so its not exactly in running order. but the chassis is sound and the body isnt too bad so I'm a least planning to turn this old girl into a beach basher. Still looking to aquire a roadworthy model sometime, but this will keep me happy for the moment.

Awesome, glad to find out I'm not the only kiwi here. Cheers for the contact for parts. Ive been trawling the net looking for a good parts supplier in NZ. Thats a great looking series 2, how long did it take you to rebuild?

Glad to help!, Took about a year to build it from two scrappers, recon the engine and gear box and then built it up. Im off up Taupo way on sunday fer a club meet, sadly its not in the series, but a Nissan safari, ill get some photos, and plonk em up on here!. catch you in the series section
