Hey there,

in the latest in a line of probably stupid questions, I’ve just had my hevac out (97 gems) for rebuilding and the zebra strip treatment (works a treat) but now I’ve it back in situ, it seems to think it’s -40c !

now I know it never gets too cosy here, even in summer, but -40 is pushing it.

clearly I’ve either broken a wire / connector or disturbed / disconnected the external temp sensor.

Anyone have any ideas for an easy solution ?
(Apart from scarf, hat gloves and a flask of something warming !)

thanks again

Bob

If it was powered on before the sensor was connected, it will jump to the lowest temp. When you plug the connector in, it will take ages to get back to actual temp

Possibly a daft question, but would Nanocom be able to sense an open circuit in the external sensor circuit ?

also, in a ‘97 model, where shoukd the sensor be ? I had read somewhere it was in the LH air intake but I’ve just had rhat all out to seal for leaks and there was nothing there that resembled a sensor

It should be in the LH heater intake. If you take out the pollen filter you should see it poking into the vent.

Ah, that’s what I thought. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing there because I was expecting to see something.

did they move
It to a different location after a certain model number ?

Bet it’s going to be a bugger to replace too !

My hevac temp is bit crazy after replacing my head sensors. Starts off thinking it’s extra hot then as I drive along the temperature goes down slowly until it gives actual real temperature. One cause of this I think is that my DT should not have this type hevac to begin with and I have no idea how they got it to work in first place

My DT has climate control.
