just going to see how it all goes the deal for the parabolics fell through but ill get some so time in the future I'm not sure how long the n/a derv will last anyway been looking at verious other engine alternatives and yeah should hopefully be on the road sometime in the next few months not going to be doing much two weeks becuase I've got to get this Italian back on the road for a show then it'll sure be full steam ahead with the series
been doing a bit of modding with the car eh.
should call you the 'mod man', but theres nothing wrong with modding though, i see in america people are putting detroit and cummins engines in their 4x4's.
it would be strange having a two stroke diesel in a landrover, now that would turn heads, i have truck mirrors and clearance lights on my landrover, and at night people will move off the road a bit thinking im a big truck, there was this one time i was driving down the highway at 45mph and a truck coming out of a side road saw me coming down the road and quickly pulled up thinking i was large and would not be able to slow in time, and when i went past he would have thought he was silly, waiting for me to go past as he would be going quicker. cops never bug me at night thinking im a truck and they dont want to hold me up as they think its bad so thats good in a way.

its almost 11am over there its 9pm here, its our first day of winter here, but our days get as low as 20c here no where as cold as it would be there in winter, i still wear summer clothes here as it doesnt get cold enough, it would be your first day of summer there.

Yeah definitely can't keep anything standard if it's broke I'll upgrade it ect ect it's mean to be summer over here but it's raining and 14 degrees

Well went landrover show today and was basically looking for a spare or a 16x10 landrover rim becuase one 35 is a 16 and not a 15 like the rest so I've only got 3 35s on atm but I did find a michelin 8.25r16 will do as a spare so the series has a space saver lmfao oh and may have got myself a 10spline detroit locker and some defender axles the and here's some other pictures I took at the show of other series with defender axles
20160605_170428.jpg 20160605_170435.jpg 20160605_170827.jpg 20160605_122823.jpg 20160605_122745.jpg FB_IMG_1465147368485.jpg

So my 16x10 steel modular come from flat do so got all the tyre on so she's on 4 35s and spare back on the door 20160607_192421.jpg 20160607_192401.jpg 20160608_075142.jpg

Going to have ago at sorting the leaf spring bush that I half finished a year or two ago sho she's actually dat on he leafs and not an axle stand holding the chassis up

Well where to start it's been a while i don't 100% know what order everything goes in but ill let pictures do the talking

so here i started taking the original axles off

17862001_10212753416127157_2381427896230311037_n.jpg
then started wire brushing and painting the chassis only ever did the rear for some reason

17861664_10212825272243515_4342623933579951708_n.jpg
then while was under there i noticed the gearbox mounts had broken into two half so got some ordered and fitted

then never really done much else after that just placed the front axle over the front leafs and sat it on axle stands for a good year

until...... i had my other project car (yellow cinquecento parked next to it) have a complete internal electrical failure after i spent two solid years building it i decided enough was enough that got broke for spares i then brought a tidy mk1 punto sporting to "daily" and decided to put the money i made of breaking the cinq into the old girl, so spent the last couple of weeks getting the 12j back up and running pulling the front end back off and taking the front axle apart read for the coilsprung stuff to be cut off and the leaf stuff welded on

37861628_10217222777938409_4837267536288415744_n.jpg

not only that i'm trying to achieve something along the lines
37397708_10217155257170432_2616496589279068160_n.jpg

so yeah i really wish i never sold my series screen and other items all that time ago

i'm not sure if it was mentioned previously but the previous owner cut out the original bulkhead and made one further back, well i used that for the back of the king cab i've now moved it back to where it was and had a little play with bats to see if they would fit where i wanted them

So i guess we're due for another update this one will start on a bad note but trust me it gets better

so after a few attempts to get the 300tdi running on the floor she was having non of it i then decided to whip the head off to find out its blown the gasket between 2-3 annnnd melted no4 piston probably and ideal candidate to rebuild but I've got no experience building rotating assemblies, and wouldn't feel comfortable putting it into service especially when the eventual plan is daily duties.

So while me and the old man figured out what to do engine wise, dad welded up my front axle and i got all bolted up back into place in time for a little bit of a flex test just to give us an idea if anything anything going to rub/bind up ect ect

so as some might have seen my dads had a pair of mach5s on his disco for some years now and he finally fancied a change, I've always wanted a set and defiantly wasn't going to pass them up they are in need of a colour change most likely black maybe white?

44194851_10217921180118027_8800171020641107968_n.jpg

finally a plan with engines was formed in the shape of a disco 200tdi

44381666_10217947121646549_1429676874899914752_n.jpg

also got a little vid of us getting it running on the floor

and in my usual style ill be using mostly what i have to hand for example had a little play with my front panel dads old 300tdi standard intercooler and my series rad

44852236_10217976721586529_627677588768161792_n (1).jpg

ill figure out oil cooler pipes when the fronts all back on

and then it was time to pull out the old and in with the new

still plenty more to do

Sweet mate, definitely go black on the rims....one of my mates got them on his disco and they suit landys so well....;)
