Hi guys.
Looking for a site to solve my freelander problem and came across your site. Looks great:D .

New freelander (well new to me) actually 01/012001. 2.5 V6. Starts when it feels like it. Turn the key, winds over but won't fire. Next time, turn the key, winds over and will start! Tried both keys and problem still there. If it doesn't start at night, in the morning it will! If you leave it for a couple of hours, it starts!
Any ideas?

er reet earthling . . . . 1st check battery. . . .2nd check earth connection to engine. . .turd check starter solinoid [its fitted in the starter motor and thats really ya problem, i only put 1st un 2nd to look clever, but i dunt have ta be clever , cos i rule the universe, un the tinternet un landy zone. . . . . fact is i'm so pluckin clever, i'm gonna self destruct] BOOM!!!!!!!!!

Cant be a starter solenoid issue as he says the car turns over but wont fire.

I take it you dont have any check engine lights on the dash when it is running.

I would start by cleaning your crank position sensor. On other model cars the problem you describe is normally caused by this sensor needing a clean or replacing.
