Help

Thanks for advice i have a ccu on order from e bay . So I will try it and at least it can be ruled out. I will then replace the dash. If it keeps going on i might have enough parts to build another car. Lol

Hi guys got the ccu and fitted it no difference refited the original so i wont have to reset . Think i might try a dash unless anyone has any other advice . I now have a new ccu if anyone needs one.

All the windows are controlled by the CCU. I can't see the dash making much difference tbh. It has to be a power supply fault. Are you absolutely sure all the fuses and fuseable links are sound?

Other things to try.
Sounds like the towing electrics are a bodge job, so remove the offending wires, pull the two rear internal panels off and check for connections/ towing relay/ bad earths.
Has the battery had numerous live/earths added, if so remove them. Check the main battery earth is sound on both ends.
Check all fuses in both fuse boxes, press the reset in the engine bay (doubtful, but you never know)
And check the back of the ignition barrel, the short should not have got this far, but anything is possible.
