I have bought a 94 range rover for cheap money, unfortunately that meant it was purchased without hearing it running (now sorted and the v8 sounds sweet).

My issue is I have also not had it moving under its own steam. When I select drive on the auto gearbox it wont go anywhere.

A more in depth look underneath revealed what looks like missing bracket.

I have had a look through online parts/repair manuals and can't identify what I am missing but was hoping with the help of a photo and the experience of the forum users someone will be able to let me know what I am missing.

It seems to be the gearbox selector cable mounting bracket, or that is at least one of its purposes but what it looks like i am not sure and the attached diagrams seems to ignore it!

Cheers

M

thanks very much for the super quick response :). anyone have any pics of what it should look like &| part number?

you would probably be best ringing a breaker ,to get box mounting bracket ,rubber mount and chassis bracket ,cable bracket bolt to top two holes, with out been held cable wont pull on selector lever on the side of box

thanks, will speak to a breaker and try and get all the parts at once.

My thoughts exactly, without being held at this point the selector has nothing to push/pull against to change the gear lever position on the gearbox.

As a mater of interest should these parts be listed in the workshop/parts manuals, am I just in the wrong place?

thanks again
M
