help with lt77

hi all
just got a call from a mate of mine whos just refitted his lt77 into his 110. he starts it up and hes able to select all gears then 5 mins later he cant select reverse, 1st, 3rd, 5th any ideas as to wots gon on as this ones got me stumped.

So the gearlever won't go forwards of neutral?

Time to lift the middle cover and have a look.

he says that after fitting the box he started her up got drive in all forward gears went for reverse it crunched then no R, 1st, 3rd, 5th so ive gotta go n take top cover off n av a luk other than that ive no idea.

I reckon, an this is only speculation, that the reverse gear linkage gubbins has come adrift and is stopping the selector shaft from moving forwards. Or it's stuck in reverse and 2nd or 3rd gear, does the vehicle move when he lets the clutch in?
