Help With Ignition Failure

Good Afternoon,
I am new to this forum but hoping someone might be able to shed some light on my problem.
I have a hybrid range rover chassis with range rover/disco running gear and 200tdi engine and lightweight body. At the weekend the electrical system cut out completely will driving. I figured it could be the battery kill switch which has played up before and I have now bypassed and got headlights and hazzards working again but the ignition system has no life at all, not even dashboard lights. I am unsure of the wiring loom but hope awesomeness might be able to point me in the direction of what to look for or may have come across this before. Many thanks in advance.

Welcome. Sounds like you may need a rewire?
Are you good with a multi meter?

Hi, thanks for your response. I can do a bit but only the basics. Everything was fine and driving OK until the kill switch I think either shorted out or lost contact (luckily I was just about to pull out of a junction on a down slope and was able to roll off the road safely!). At that point there was no power anywhere because it is a main battery kill switch. After bypassing this the lights and hazards then worked but no ignition. I have tested all fuses and they are OK and there is power to the back of the ignition switch.

Test 1 side of the kill switch, then the other. This will show if the switch is working. If this switch is dead Can you short/bridge the rear of the kill switch?

Have already bypassed the switch which is when I got the lights and hazzards working.

If it's an expensive kill switch there will be an extra block on the switch. Does yours have this?

Many thanks for your advice and interest but since my last post I have been working on it and searched for any other fuses, relays etc I can check and after pulling them all and checking then putting it all back she is now running again. I am very relieved. Not sure which fuse or other was at fault but all seems fine now. Thanks once again for your advice.

I had a problem with the headlights. Fuse OK..light ok. It was a bad connection between the two posts on the fuse panel. Just fixed my lawn mower by spraying the ignition switch with electrical cleaner. Seems often its ground and sometimes tough to eliminate.
