OK I need to point out now that electrics arent my thing...:p But armed with a multi meter, some electrical tape and false confidence gained after successfully DIY installing my LED lights.... I'm prepared to give it a go.

Since the day I got it my landy, the radio, fog lights and cigar lighter havent worked.

I did try and poke about a bit with the stereo and I seemed to get power up to the multi connectors at the back ( 2 feeds if I recall, one when the ignition was turned on the other was constantly on) that made me think the stereo was knackered so I tried with another I had just taken out of another car but still nothing?

Any clues?

Thanks

There should be a live feed to your radio when you turn your key to either on or aux. I shorted both of the feeds together so that the radio is permanently on on the button.

The cigar lighter is fed from a fuse in the fusebox, so I'd be inclined to check there first.

The fog lights are wired through a relay linked in to your headlights.

Result!

Stereo was not ground properly... Did a bodge to get some sounds, but where should it be ground to, there is a wire there but I cant see where it goes to as its part of a fiairly tightly wound loom

There is a fuse in the cigar lighter and power getting to back of the unit itself. Though the unit does look pretty old and rusty. Think I'll try and buy a new unit on ebay....

You should be able to take an earth from just about anywhere and then ground it to the spade connector on the radio.

It doesn't matter if you have too many earths, as you can't damage it that way! ;)
