Hi All,

I've been a guest viewer of the forum for a while but now I'm in need of some help so I'm hoping someone can be of assistance... I need to identify a faulty component on my L322 TD6 (2004). It is mounted to the chassis using a rubber mount - it's on the offside rear, underneath the car, above the drive shaft.

It looks like a valve of some kind - it has a power or sensor line connected to it and appears to have at least and in and out hose connected - on a quick initial inspection I couldn't say for sure if there were 2 lines or 3. The immediate connections are rubber hoses but it looks like these connect to metal piping after a short run. It did have some kind of metal ball in it - suggesting a ball vale of some kind - but the plastic has sheared and this has fallen out. I've tried to take a pic but it is rather hidden!

I am guessing it is either related to the fuel system or the air suspension?

Any help would be much appreciated, looks simple enough to swap once I know what it is!

Thanks,

Chris

It might be either items 19,20 or 21 in the attached diagrams...

It is not part of the EAS that I recognise

EDIT: - hmmmm maybe not...but it could be one of them, reading RAVE it says SOME of those are mounted up near the HP Pump!

2nd EDIT: - Could be number 15, a Flow Restrictor in the Fuel Return Line....

Will have to check MicroCAT

3rd EDIT: MicroCAT not showing much in the fuel lines from the tank up to the HP pump on the engine....hmmmm
4th EDIT: Item 19 is the only other part apart from the HP pump and the tank pumps that has an electrical item attached - this is a Pressure Sensor of some description....
(and no I am not going for 'The most edits in a single post' award...

5th EDIT: Nope - Item 19 is mounted in the Fuel Filter area under the bonnet...Fecked if I know what it is then....need more info!

Pulled it off this afternoon - it's a small pump I believe for the aux / pre heater...

It's labeled as part:

Thomas Magnete 89372A

Google doesn't list many for sale... any tips on who might have one they can ship to France? Rather avoid ordering through a French dealer, that could be quite eye watering!

Cheers,

Chris

You are right about French dealer prices being eyewatering. I order all my parts from the UK.
Where in France are you located?

If they can beat the Rimmers price of £76.00 for twelve inches of brake pipe and two tube nuts they truly are eye watering. :D:D

Morzine - in the Alps...

I know plenty of the UK suppliers will ship here, just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for that particular part as it doesn't seem too common, not sure if they switched brands regularly or perhaps it doesn't break often? Looks like mine has sheered off on one end, we had a pretty cold snap just before I noticed it leaking so the low temperatures could have cause it... ironic really, given it's purpose is to warm the car up in said low temperatures!
