Hello all, sorry for manic first post.

The tailgate window on my 3 door won't close and I don't have a garage to put it in.

Is there a way of manually closing the window?? Any suggestions/help greatly appreciated.

You prob have a broken cable , what I done till I got a replacement regulator is to remove the cables from the runners and place a jubile clip just under the clamps for the glass on either side then push them up that the window is just bellow the lip when you close the door . you then can manualy move the glass up under the lip when door closed . This kept mine dry hope this helps

It doesn't have to be a broken cable.
It could be the contacts need cleaning or a number of other reasons, search on here for more info.

Hi,
before you take the rear door apart, try the little switch that tells the rear door that the removable roof is fitted. if i remember rightly it is located on the right hand side.
Undo the rear roof clamps, lift the roof off the rear clamps and you should be able to see the little switch/button half way up the bodyside. have a play with it clamp the roof back down and try the rear window.

Thanks for the replies. I know this has probably been done to death and I would usually search more before asking a question. I was in a panic as my car won't be secure tonight.

The cover is off the door and all looks intact. I tried lifting the glass but it wouldn't budge. I suspect it's an electrical problem.

Lol.

Which terminal on the regulator drives the window up and which one is the earth? Was thinking of applying 12v to close the window for tonight. Only recently bought the car so not got a workshop manual yet.

It is fully down. The plug had been disconnected on the motor, when it was reconnected, I pressed the down button on the centre console and it went down. When I pressed up on the switch it did nothing. I lifted the roof up and as soon as the microswitch broke contact, there was a warning beep so I guess that is working ok.

Managed to close the window by putting 12v direct to the motor.

Would the window have powered down if the wiper motor micro switch wasn't working?

What's the best way to check the door handle/lock interlock?

It's only a tiny microswitch inside the handle.
undo the three nuts on the inside of the door, flood with wd40 first to make em come off without snapping.

Quick update. Not had time to sort this out fully. I disconnected the tail foor microswitch plug and the window is now working. The only issue is that I have to hold the tail door handle in when I want to open the door. No problem with that so will leave it as it is until I have time to strip down the handle and microswitch.
