Help stuck half shaft

Need some help my mates disco 200tdi, is marking a nasty noise from the rear, so went to take half shaft out, but the bloody thing will only pull out about 10mm, tried twisting it whilst barring it out, but still not luck anyone else had this

bearing seized to shaft?

If you can get the shaft out the other side you should be able to slide a length of 8mm steel rod or threaded bar in instead of the shaft and use it like a long drift to knock it out that way from the inside, it helps to use a pry bar on it at the same time. Anything bigger than 8mm might be too tight to fit.
