I was just leaving my mate's place, he's gone to work, locked up... Turning Scratchy round and there was a loud crack when it was on full lock. Now there's a clacking when I move 'im. As I've locked my pal's place I've hardly any tools. Anyone nearby? Or can anyone recommend a decent indy garage in the Brighton area?

at a guess front cv or a half shaft LZ international rescue

Sounds like half shaft or diff? Were you in difflock by accident?

The simplist solution would be to undo the bolts on the end of the axle to pull the shaft out, you will see if its broken or not?

If you discover a broken one, try and remove at all then drop the prop off and drive with difflock engaged, this way you will have drive to the rear axle only.

Good luck with it.

Steve_R1979
M Power
Maybe Disco 147

I will send a txt and see if we can find someone

Nearest landy specialist I`m aware of is the Thatched Garage in Hoathly - never used them myself but they`ve been around years.
Lateral thought - buy some cheap spanners were you are ?

Okay Dom is having breakfast and there is a garage down the road- not sure if the guys near by are mental enough to strip it in the street. I've asked MHM for numbers of people suggested.
maybe Chris 300 tdi will do it as a job ( reliable but not an international rescue )

Or possibly bits from steve r179 and a repair

Just spoke to M and D Motors on Shoreham seafront. He says he's got loadsa second hand Landy bits on the shelf and could get it done for me today. And that it should be alright to limp down there. Think I might give it a go...

I didnt have the numbers for Steve & M Power. Disco147 has just told me his motor was towed hom elast nite - Tensioner bolt sheared :(, so he has no transport.

Any luck with Ratty, Fan?

I just realised - yu meant Kris 300TDi  - thats why I couldnt find it

Got to the bottom of the hill and ee won't turn left, the right wheel ain't for turning and the steering bar is bent to buggery. Waiting to find out how much it'll cost to be recovered...

I'm here

I have Steve R1979's number if it's needed

I don't have Mpowers though

Best plan is Dom is going to contact garage as nobody within range has wheel lift recovery.

If the garage can't help him
either Khris300tdi to Steve r1979 if he has bits or home as a possible as well

This is typical! I'd have loaded up with tools and come to help you out but as mhm says... I'm in a bit of a pickle myself! :( got recovered at 2am this morning after working in london since 5am :( if your still stuck scratchy... I may be able to get my mate who has a car transporter to pick you up after work n get you home or back here to fix the problem

I'm going to have to stump up the fifty notes and get recovered to the garage - I need to get this sorted so I can work tomorrow. Thanks everyone for trying...
