Is that cos they fell off the back of yer lorry or had Pikey broken them up and sold the spares before you got to the bottom of the hill?
If I had em on the back of my lorry I probably would've had some grip.

say what yer want, nothing likes ice, been out earlier on the lanes , iced over and now polished like glass with a days melted ice now frozen again, i were using high gears difflok where needed, the second i could see the turnings i applied small taps to the brakes just to slow it down , but half the time i just kept going,
got out and let a bit out me tryes so the bottom was in full contact with the road and a slight bulge, it were a lot better,

i always prefered thin tall tyres on ice (especially if you can get spikes) as they bite in more
