Hi,

Just had my 56" Freelander 1 Diesel serviced.

They have recommended two things for immediate action and want to charge the following. I'm no mechanic, so if anyone can tell me if this is fair price and essential that would be really helpful:

Main Shaft Mountings - Broken: £300
Off Side Front Droplink - Excessive Play - £40

Prices inc. VAT.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

By main shaft bearings if they mean the prop bearings, bell quoted me £320 for vcu and bearings ,i can source good bearings local for £90 and £50-£60 for fitting .

Both jobs should take no more than 2.5 hours VCU mount bearings £60 for a good set drop links good ones about £20 labour £150 so maybe £100 to much, if you are handy with a spanner you could under take these jobs your self and maybe save your self £240 on their price
