Hello,

A few months ago a bought an awesome 3.5 Efi Rangie. (1989)

I've had a gas conversion and she's been running perfectly....so pleased with it.

However! This weekend gone, I have changed HT leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm and manifold gaskets. Everything went fine, and she was running better than ever.

Last night, I'd completed about 4 hours of a journey, came off a round about and the ignition cut out! Lights, radio, wipers, everything else is working......but no ignition and no dash lights on the key.

I've checked the obvious stuff like fuses etc, spent about 3 hours messing about last night in the rain at a hotel forecourt!! But I couldnt work it out so I had to abandon her as it was 11:30!!

Anyone got any ideas whats going on?! I thought maybe ECU? But i'd have thought i'd have dash lights? at least a battery light?!

All other systems but the ignition are go. i really wanna fix her myself because call out fee's and recovery are looking huge!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

George

One other thing, she's fitted with an alarm and immobiliser.

join the aa or rac, depending on what level you get, you get so many tows included either to home or a local garage last year i used my quota of 5 pickups on a low loader when i had overheating probs in my p38. so for £49 or so, you get 2 or 3 'recoveries' included for that year.

Yeah,

I've had to join up with the aa. Cost me £153 because it was an emergency joining but I'm now a member for a year too.

I'm going to get it recovered in the morning so i'll update here as to what the prob was.
