HELP PLEASE. Rear Loading bay window

I have just fitted a newer Loading bay rear heated window as Andyfreelander explained but everything went smoothly until I came to close it and then it raises ok but goes over the top lip instead of under it to close. What am I doing wrong??????? please help me before it starts raining.

I’m guessing either the arm is bent slightly, or it’s not been calibrated and is going up too much, forcing the window to bow.
Sent you an image of the manual on how to calibrate yesterday…

Simple.

At the bottom of the rails that it slides on there are 2 adjusters. One each side.

So on the inside face of the door near the bottom with the door card off.

There are 2 nuts and a torx shape bolt inside the nut.

Loosen the nut and adjust the torx to bring the bottom of the window out, so toward the metalwork of the outside of the door.

The top.will pull in and glass will pop under the lip.

You may need to remove battery lead for a short while and then connect to recalibrate the window. The window will drop as you reconnect the battery.

Then simply hold switch till it meets the top.

Job done !!

Cheers Andy. Job done but not quite. It now catches a little bit at the top when I open the door.

Hi ANDY, Sorry to be a pain. I did exactly what you told me but even pushing the rails as far back as i can the window still closes outside the lip. I am able to get it under the lip if Sue my wife presses the button and I push the Glass outside. Andy do you think I might have the wrong Glass? could it be for a Facelift model? or are they all the same.

Just speaking from experience but I believe the TD4 and the 1.8 have slightly different glass as I swapped my scratched 1.8 glass with the TD4 and have the same issue even with adjustments I cannot get it to line up, I just press it into fit and leave it like that until I can be bothered to fix it properly

All body shells and tailgate doors are the same.

Only thing I can think of, is the glass in the 2 holders that you tighten correctly??

There is a rubber channel sitting in the plastic holders. The glass needs to sit in the centre of that rubber. The idea is that there is a thin section of rubber against both sides of the glass.

Is the top black section correctly seated on the top.of the door frame. The section with the slot in for the window? If not then this could force the glass out of line.

Perhaps post photos if these ideas don't help.

It'll be summat simple probably.
