Hi all
Its really annoying, the ignition used to stick and need a bit of wriggling to get it to turn with the key.
Ive ordered a new barrell learlier this week off the bay but its not come yet and key will not turn at all now !!
ive got covers off steering collum but i cant see how to undo the 2 studs/bolts that seem to be holding the barrell in,they dont seem to have any head at all on them.
How can i start it untill i get a new barrel in?? PM me please, i would never make it as a car thief, cant even start it with the key lol

what is the best way to get barrell out ,it looks like someone has knocked off the heads off the 2 bolts holding it in?? all i can see top and bottom is the stud

They are security bolts and the head shears off when they are installed to make it difficult to remove the lock. You may be able to tap them around with a drift or you may need to drill them. Don't forget to order replacements

as said bolts should loosen easily with a dot punch , or drill if no luck once locks off remove switch from the rear (2 little screws)then you can start car by using a screw driver etc to turn switch

Where are you Steven. If your near me you welcome to lend a ignition barrel till yours comes

thanks for the offer Gazman ,unbelievable but I left it alone for a couple of hours and went back to it and the key turned and it started straight away !! Still need to get the new barrel in when it comes but I was keen to get it to start as I was blocking in my wife's car on the drive with it !

Try turning the key over. I had it with a worn motorbike key and it only worked if the blade was facing one way

That is possibly why it worked 1st time when I went back to it Gazman, key maybe works one way and not other.the key is well worn to be fair ,you could ride bare ar*e to Gloucester on it !
