Help p38 has locked me out

Hi Everyone ,
I am new to the site and could use some help.
My Grandfather passed away a couple of months ago and left me his p38 rangerover (T reg) well the battery was flat so I got around to charging the battery this weekend and then put it back on ....yep it said something about engine imobilised and wanted a code and also kept setting the alarm off when I opened the door . I called Landrover who were good enough to give me the vehicles code and said to enter the code turning the key left then right etc etc well that didnt work and to add insult to injury the car then locked me out completely so I cant even open it with the key now ??
Please someone have an answer for me as my Gran is panicking in case she needs to go somewhere !!!
