Help needed!!

|I know head gaskets are a problem but do i want one that has had the gaskets replaced already (i would have thought yes on that one)

Re the head gasket, do not be put off buying if the owner has never had the head gasket done as it is not that bad a job anyway.

I would be more concerned looking for proof that the cam belt has been changed which again is a DIY job if you have a tad of mechanical skills.

I seem to recall this model had cam belt alignment issues which should be all sorted by now but find out more if you can.

As has been said before with any car accident damage and rust is the issue, you need to get underneath with a torch and look for repairs to the boot floor and under the wheel arches, then in the engine bay the inner wings can fall apart.

If you have a friend who is good with a welder and can be plied with a few beers you can pick up a bargain and as you pointed out yourself now is the time to do it.

Check all the gadgets work leccy windows/c/locking ect.

Check as many prices as you can to make sure you are not buying over the top

Never rush to buy the first one you see and always take a knowlegable person with you and they will help to stop your heart ruling your wallet.
