I know, if I want a bit of noise then ive got a mk1 Cortina with race engine on sidedrafts and straight through exhaust now that's a nice sound track:D

Feck that, if I want to have a vehicle that sounds like a racing car I'd get a sports car, my target is to make mine silent for long distance driving in quiet comfort, much less tiring.:)

+1 - the older i get, the more I appreciate quiet!!

Agreed, the place for that sort of noise is on youtube, i dont think my neighbours would appreciate that every time i start mine.
I have seen clips of a RRS with a switch to change between quiet and LAD

shame, i have had mine for about 14 years , wow didnt realise it was that long, and it isnt worth much so not really worth getting rid although i dont ride it as much as i would like it is always there if i need a near death experience to liven me up a bit :)

I can no longer justify the cost of insurance for a bike that gets ridden to the village a couple of times a year, do miss my bikes though:(

Surely an L322 is a tarted up X5 which in turn is an E39 on steroids.
Currently owning both cars (4.4 L322 and an E39 M5) the similarity between the electrics on the 2 are uncanny, so much so that I bet if a complete M5 was being used as a donor, it could be made to work easier than thought although there are the valid issues raised about the gearbox and possibly the diffs/driveshafts/propshafts. The suspension arms and rubbers also look very similar and could easily be replaced with polys. If someone wants to donate a scrap but running M5 I'd eagerly attempt to answer the can it be done question.
