Hi i am just about to put my engine and box back in my td5 defender but paranoid i have put the friction plate in wrong can anyone please advise asap?

The side with the sticky out bit is facing the engine

They are, or used to be, marked 'flywheel'.
In the good old days before the EU stopped it... probably

I've replaced clutch on my 200tdi, and the new friction plate said flywheel on it.

Is there a recess in the flywheel? If not, the sticky out bit will have to be facing the gearbox.

The raised boss on a td5 points towards the engine i can 100% confirm, glad it was right pheww.
