Does anyone have any idea how to purchase a new BCU (electronic Body Control Unit for the alarm/immobiliser) for a Discovery 1999 TD5 Mk2? Landrover have been telling me for the last 3 months that they can't source the product due to their French supplier going bust and they're having a problem finding a new supplier (so they say!) I tried a breakers but they sent me a manual one with 145k miles on, which wouldn't work as mine is auto with 70k on, so I ended up paying 2 hours labour for nothing and had to pay to return it!! It's taking me about 6 minutes disabling the alarm/immobiliser (using the EKA)every time I use the vehicle.
Tried to part-ex but it's classed as non-runner and scrap value only offered(Disco is ESI /Excellent/70k miles only)
Has anybody out there got the same problem?
Any auto-electricians know how to bye-pass the BCU ?
Any help appreciated.
