HELP! Engine Immobilized

The old rf receiver Saint mentioned earlier has a reputation of burning out lock motors. This may be the reason the passenger door is not functioning properly. Keep it high on the jobs to do list.
 
apparently the battery in the car when brought it was for a medium car or something, the one i brought is a bosch 12v 830amps

I suspect that you have an 83 amp/hour battery. I wonder whether it was from, AA/RAC? Might be OK for a petrol motor.

Diesel owners would not be impressed.

Still think that you have dealt with a symptom rather than a cause.

I have a 135AH 1000CCA battery from battery megastore, it's the biggest that will fit the box:D

i live in canada, range rovers are great for getting though 3 feet of show.
if the thing starts lol.
i ve read this post and i have similar experiences engine wont start after stopping for gas (petrol) sometimes wont start in the driveway etc
it goes on and on. Its got to the point i don't trust it im afraid to take it out out the driveway.
first off its a 1995 with a 4.0 litre
my remote key (BUTTONS) will not lock or unlock the drivers side door (left side over here) works manually im guessing defective door actuator as part of the problem
when it wont start ive tried the key syn 1515 for north American RR
nothing.Disconnected the battery with key in position 2 that worked once and only once . the land rover dealer wants $215 can dollars or 50 p British pounds lol just for a 2 hour diagnostic check just to tell me what i already suspect.
but besides the door adulator i was thinking about this r/f receiver how can you tell if you have the old style ?
anything else i can check or replace before i head to the dealers to get this all syn-ed up

Get yourself a Nanocom Evo and diagnose it yourself.

The best way to check the RF receiver is to remove it and take the cover off and view the PC board.If there is an rectangular IC with 20 pins mounted on the board then it is the latest version.
