I've just done the hub seals on my Defender, which has a later rear axle with disc brakes, and was going to fit new brake pads. When I put the brake calipers back on I noticed that on the left one, the disc is nearer the inside of the caliper than the outside, and is actually a ittle too close to fit a brake pad. Either I've done something wrong, or it's the wrong brake caliper. The casting is a bit different from the right one (which I'm replacing as it has a stuck piston). Any ideas?
(First pic shows how the caliper sits, the next two show the difference between the two).

I've fitted the calipers, and had to elongate the two holes for the split pins for the pads with a drill to get the pins through. One of the brake pipe unions was siezed in, and the other wouldn't turn without twisting the pipe, so I've removed both and I'll fit new pipes next weekend. I've given up on the front calipers, the bolts are so rounded off and rusted I can't get them out, so I've admitted defeat and will hand it over to the garage when the rear brakes are done, and hopefully it'll be returned with a shiny new MOT..
