Can anyone suggest why my engine light has come on and car has gone into like a limp mode, it has no pull esp up a hill. Friend plugged it into diagnostic and no codes came up.

Is it a car? ......a Boeing 747?............nuclear sub?
How the feck would she know that?

Ask reasonable questions.

Can anyone suggest why my engine light has come on and car has gone into like a limp mode, it has no pull esp up a hill. Friend plugged it into diagnostic and no codes came up.

What colour is it?

Hi Katie,

If the engine light is on then a fault code will be logged in the engine computer.

The land rover needs a specific reader and not all generic ones work.

Is it blowing smoke at all?? If so what colour?

If so it could be a burst or split turbo hose.

If not you really need someone nearby to read codes with a suitable reader.

Maybe post your general location and see if any members want to help ?

Its customary to say 'hello' and introduce yourself in the forum in your first posts. Understandably, you might not get received with compassion and understanding if you just launch in with random demands and no useful information about your vehicle. Maybe Start over?

Another common fault is dirty connections on the fuel rail pressure sensor.

This is on the end of the fuel rail near the battery.
Press the clip, un plug, clean the pins amd plug in again.

Your so funny Not

Thank you, it only blows smoke at start up (white). I’ll take it to a garage and see if they can read it for me. Thanks for your polite answer.

My first guess would be a turbo hose too.

Did your friend just use a generic reader? You really need a F1 specific code reader on it… What area are you in?
Hi, I’m in Cambridgeshire/hertfordshire. Yes friend just used a small reader, so I’ll have to take it to a garage and see if they can plug it in. Thank you for your response.
