hi all, I'm at a crossroads and need some help..
Having bought the Mrs a Freelander and having one myself that is for comp safari use, it's nothing near standard. I now find myself wondering whether to change my luxury tow car..
I've always fancied having something to Greenlane and do some of these off road treks but want something that would tow the Freelander racer as well when I don't want to take the big Van.. (Combined weight car n trailer circa 1800kg) themes has horses and I've been known to tow a big Rice box to take the largest to the vets but never distance we would rent a horse box so it's local towing only with 500kg of horse and weight of box so say around 1300kg?
The question is what would you recommend? It needs to be a daily drive but I'm not afraid to up the mods.. I've been umming and ahhhing about just off road prepping my cayenne as it's surprisingly good off road but it's a thirsty petrol and everything is expensive to modify and repair on it.. So I find myself wondering would another Freelander auto with some good all terrains and a 40mm lift and winch kit on the front fit my bill better or am I better looking disco 2 (just can't help thinking them a bit big) or do I just bite the bullet and accept the loss of my comforts and buy a defender?
