No.... It looks as though it should just pop off - there is a definite edge and movement to it. And from what I can see in the gap that would be the only way to get in the. Unless you can go in from under the peddles? In which case a professional not a blonde with a spatula needs to do that !

sounds like yer better off either taking it to a garage or calling out breakdown.

You REALLY don't want the airbag going off with your face and a spatula in close vicinity to it.:eek::eek:

16 years of age and you think you will have a chance with this young woman.you got more chance of having tea with the pope.now go ride your bicycle round the farmyard.:p:D:D:D

As it happens me and the ex pope have just had tea and biscuits, turns out they treat their alter boys very well!

So had to brake quite quickly for a bunny...and my phone ended up going through the gap underneath the steering wheel and is now in that empty compartment. It's quite happy...and there doesn't seem to any budging it.

It looks as though at the driver's door side there is an access panel. How do I get it off? I Have tried to lever it slightly ...but not having any luck and to be honest I'm sure it's supposed to come off.

Can anyone give me any ideas?

Thank you!!

I don't know what this compartment looks like - I drive a tratter. But why not just find a very steep hill and drive up it. The phone will then fall out again.

Job done.

:D

I tried to encourage it to come out with various driving methods... But it seems firmly in place. I can take it in to the mechanic tomorrow - not worth calling breakdown out for it. Pretty sure there are people actually in distress who need them, not just perplexed people like me!

I imagine they'll show me some very easy way of getting the panel off and I'll feel rather silly again :)

Did you get the phone moving at all with the hooky method?

if there are no screw holes underneath the panel, then it will be a press fit.just try harder on pulling the panel down.it wont break.

Yeah it'll move slightly.... I think a long pair of tongs would work wonders if they were small enough. There's a lot of stuff in there that gets in the way of trying to move anything. Probably quite important stuff too...so I can't be too rough with it...

It's right at the back of there, there is a tiny finger size gap so I can just about touch it. But the gap is too small to get any grip on it, and certainly no way I can pull the phone out. It will need to come out the way it went in I guess?!?

sounds like you're best leaving it there and letting your garage deal with it

If I was blue Peter enough to have double sided tape I probably wouldn't be in this mess... I shouldn't be left unattended with heavy machinery!
