help! 90, 110 or what! i would really appreciate any pro's and con's of the 90, the 110 and anything similar. i have between 1500 and 2000 pounds, permission from the misses, and a serious need to go get muddy. so what is 'THE BEST LAND ROVER'??? i like the 110 but im worried about its capability, anyone with won set my mind at ease?

i got stuck in a shale covered mud pit on a beach today in my 110, sunk to the axles, with a pile of turf in the back, put her in low dif lock, pulled straight out of it no bother, absolute beast of 4x4, and lots of space if you need it

well it your planning on using it just for offroad, the 90 has a shorter wheelbase, which reduces your chances of getting beached on tall things you try to drive over, brows of steep hills, felled trees, etc.. but i can vouch for the 110 being well capable
don't rule out a disco, on your budget you could get a kitted out good condition disco, and have change.
2k is not a big budget for a 90 (standard 1992), and you get even less for your money for a 110, and if you what more than 3 seats in the 110 you will struggle for anything after 1990.
You may get a bargain but that's from what i have found, I understand the charm of a defender which is why i bought mine. But a if you can find a disco with some toys they go very cheep when you look at what you get.

90 has advantages over a 110, smaller turning circle, ideal for crawling round tree's and rocks and stuff and as said above they don't beach as easily.

got myself my defender 90 (1991 200tdi) for £2k. basic with nothing apart from basic stuff, a window, a seat and a pas. door lock that wont unlock even tho has new lock in it! oh and a dog guard! NICE!. had to spend about £800 on it so far in past 6 months on steering and stuff as wasnt great when got it. you got any money to do it up once you spent out on it. I LOVE MY LANDY, everytime I see it, its cool!
for a toy i would get a 90. just decide what body shape you want and even then you can just change that if you cant find what you looking for.
