Disco 3 (LR3) Hello!

Well, I've done it now for sure. I've gone a bought a D3 as if keeping my tatty old RRC wasn't enough! I'll be selling that soon, will be sad to see it go but look forward to getting to know the D3.

I've just ordered a Gap iiD, I just know I'll need it sooner or later. I don't come in here often so thought I'd stick my head round the door and say Hi. I'm sure it won't be long before I need to ask some questions.

Checks the sills for rust, to do it properly you need to remove the plastic sill covers, when refitting leave every other underside plastic clip out for extra drainage.
I suggest you try a google search for oil pump asap
Do not run the engine oil for as long as land rover suggest 10/12k, change more often, I do mine every 5k, and also use a quality filter Mann etc.

Checking sills for rust... on a Land Rover..... I'm shocked! Thanks for the tip about the clips, not seen that one. I know about oil changes too. As soon as I can I will pop the timing belt cover off to check the belt and to see if the oil pump/timing cover has been changed. FBH works, no warning lights on the dash and the air suspension seems to work so fundamentally it's looking OK.
