Good morning everybody, please let me introduce myself. I live in France but I am English, I have a Range Rover efi V8 which I have had for 24 years so is up there with the kids as an equal family member for me and despite the thirst for petrol I still maintain is cheaper to keep ( my better half disagrees). And a disco series 2 td5 which is more of a "driveway ornament" but I always live in hope and dig deep in the pocket that one day it will live up to all the hours spent under the bonnet and miraculously become reliable. Well that's about it, look forward to chatting to and learning from all on this site. And thanks in advance for any emotional and technical support on dark despair days with the disco.

He's generally quite content to advise over the phone but email is probably best as he's normally on the shop floor. If you are in the area it's worth dropping in - can't miss it - outside ther are seemibngly scores of Series and parts of landies.

I know James, he's a good guy. Quite a trek though. Sadly my better half " encourages" me to fix the landrovers myself (wisely). We are lucky we both work but guess you might know the french cotisation system so money for repairing the rovers comes quite a long way down the list after kids bills etc. Besides do secretly (on the forum) have a transit which is the day to day workhorse. So I guess she's got a point. Hope your settled back in England, we are staying no matter what with Brexit not much choice eldest working here one just finishing lycée and the third at college. Anyway I confess I love it here.

@Hicap phill -there are a couple of very popular French Landy clubs in Brittany and they organise various outings and activities. In general French 'mechanics' haven't a clue about LRs.
Thank you and hello. I agree most of the landys I ever see are brit ones over here on holiday I guess. The concessionere in Quimper is gone which just leaves Brest around here. I blame the new range rover, what were the design team thinking? Oops probably shouldn't say, l stress mr mediator it's just a personal opinion probably not shared by anyone else! But hey I got a working clutch again after 6 months on the disco (tried back bleeding for the first time and it works wow!!). Tell me about it when we first got here many many moons ago took the then disco to a local garage. Now I admit it was a 4.6 engine with lpg conversion to him to sort the fuel problem. Two months later no bill, no fixed did a bit of reading change the electric changeover module thing et voila. At least he had the good grace to admit he didn't have a clue about lrs. Be interested in the clubs, think my conversational French could live with it now.
