Hello Forum Members.
I have just purchased a 2000 Disco II.
Its front seats do not work at all (electric) having checked all the obvious - the fuses under the seats etc it seems I am heading towards a BCU problem. Any other ideas? How do you actually reprogram the BCU anyway, I am guess an interface into a laptop somehow?
Also it is leaking transmission fluid, where is the dipstick on these to check the level?
Thanks in advance for your help!:blabla:

:welcome2: There isn't one It's like the Diffs open the top bolt and it should dribble out so i believe.

Spent ages looking for the one on mine, then my mechanic mate said it's same as doing diff's

mines a 2000 TD5 auto

not sure about seats you've done what i would have the only other thing is the motors

Thanks Rob, yeah I've been crawling around underneath this morning and can see it is like the diffs now. Cant quite see where the oil is coming from but it is transmission oil so it's the transmission of the transfer box I guess. Too hot today to do any more though!

I dont think its the seat motors - none of them work on either side - there is an option in the BCU settings apparently so I suspect at some point someone has replaced this and not coded it properly (ie it has come of a car without electric seats and is therefore on that setting).

Thanks for the welcome too!!

No Worries

Could be leaking from the flange seal where the prop goes in they go sometimes
3 places I know of is bolts to fill the boxes Gear and transfer, The bolts to drain the boxes and the the Prop flange, If i'm wrong some one will say
