Hello! Upto Me Armpits In Oil!

I got a 110 2.5td and it got a repetitive oil leak on the rear crankshaft oil seal i replaced it once a week ago and it lasted a day before leaving even more oil on my driveway. From same seal it doing me head in anyone had a similiar problem, when we had engine out there didn't seem to be any excess play on crankshaft. Anyone with any advise would help as i am about to rip engine out again to have another look . When she was running she ran well loads of power only small amount off smoke on start up as per usual no sign of excess oil pressure so i am confused as to why same seal has failed!

This sounds to me as if the seal has been modified so maybe it is bigger than the original so needing a spacer ring on the crank, I work on trucks and this is what is happening at the with alot of the seals we use so could be a possibility?

I have had engine out again and checked seal! It seems as thou i have had just a bad seal it was not tight enough on crankshaft after trying another seal it now fits alot better so i will have to see! I will hopefully have it running again this weekend!

Thanks roy for letting me know! But her in doors moans if we have to spend money for me to enjoy myself She doesn't get the point of going out to get your landrover muddy and try pushing your landy to do what may seem inpossible for any other vehicle! But i will keep trying so maybe next time!
