Hello, New to the forum with a mystery to solve.

Number plate can only be transferred to another vehicle if both have MOT's and the Proper fees are paid to DVLA.

However because yours is a tax exempt landy. Peeps will buy the reg & V5 and stick it on a newer landy top avoid having to pay cartax :( or as said, sticvk it on a stolen landy.
Wot he said.^^^^^:(

We were hoping for somewhere in the region of £700-800. To be honest, we really don't know her true value which was why we were considering eBay.
:scratching_chin:

Next time you are in the newsagents skim through (or buy ) a copy of "Practical Classics" car mag, look at the valuation guide in the back. Your model will be listed as it is an early example and the guide should give you a (very) rough idea of what to expect to get for it then advertise in a mag like Land Rover Owner International or similar where you will also find similar examples. It will sell as it looks quite complete and looks like a good resto project for the masochists out there who like doing that sort of thing. The bulkhead looks like a goner even fom the single pic I have looked at though, big rebuild job. If you just want shot ebay is the answer -but sell the complete vehicle (sold as seen, spares or repair) with the V5 and enjoy spending the proceeds.:clap2:

Thank you for your honest comments here, really useful to have people who know their stuff to listen to rather than dodgy john from the pub!
Ideally mother in law would love it to go to an enthusiast who wants to restore her, ( with more knowledge than me.....I just had to look up what a bulkhead was!!) however with a practical head on, if she moves it she can rent out the garage to her neighbour, so sooner gone the better.

I will check out the magazine...thanks for that. :)

Had a look myself the other day and Practical classics now only print their valuation guide in segments, A-D , E-G etc and they seem to be on the M`s onwards now so no Land Rovers listed this month. I note though that they have the full valuation guide online now, search practical classics valuation guide and you should find it, save you a trip to the newsagents.

I'm pleased to say we have now sold the LANDY to a lovey man who will be restoring her with his young son. She has gone back up north, and they have said they will send us pics of her new home, and the progress they are making. I can't wait for the updates.

I wonder if they are off this board? seemed like a 5 page advertisment if you ask me. I do hope you had the right motiv when you joined and not just raise interest/value and thats all:confused: not trying to start trouble just wondering the whole time weather or not you were genuinely interested in restoring her?

Oh I really wanted to get her on the road again, but after looking into how much work was involved I just knew I wasn't the one to take on the project. I've seen some amazing transformations on this site, and I'd love to have done one too but it needed more time and money than I have right now. I was a bit naiive about it all before, thinking it was a bit of rust and a mucky engine.....hmmmm
